Spectrum Device

Why the IPL?

In order to treat the wide spectrum of skin types, the light-based energy technology uses a broad spectral light source with a range of 400nm to 1200nm.

Filters are placed in front of the light source to block out undesired frequencies and allow the desired wavelength to target specific structures and chromophores in the skin. The fairer the skin, the lower the pulse duration and the higher the number of pulses. Intense pulsed light can effectively treat skin types from I to IV.

Also know as photofacial, IPL technology provides a non-invasive treatment option for a variety of conditions and applications. As an industry-leading energy-based device provider, Rohrer Aesthetics, Inc. is at the forefront of the latest technologies to drive your business forward.

What Types of Skin Can IPL Be Used On?

The Spectrum intense pulsed light device can vary the pulse duration and pulse train of the light pulses to suit the type of skin it’s being used on. For more fair skin, Types I and II, you use a shorter pulse duration with more pulses, while Skin Types III and IV require a longer pulse duration with fewer pulses.

The Spectrum IPL should not be used on Skin Types V and VI.

How Versatile Is IPL?

Extremely. Our Spectrum intense pulsed light (IPL) device uses four broadband filters that allow practitioners to treat a number of different conditions. Further, intense pulsed light is non-ablative and gentle.
